It begins with discovery. In 2018 I needed to discover a way to help my acne explosion because it was spiraling out of control. I had read of the cleansing and oil-absorbing benefits of activated charcoal and the anti-inflammatory nature of Lavender essential oil. What better way to utilize these two natural ingredients than in a soap.

I needed one more ingredient to help soothe my skin until it could repair itself, Aloe vera gel. The combination of these three ingredients gave rise to my first soap (Charcoal and Lavender. After using the soap for only a week, I noticed a significant change in my acne.

Prior to this, I used my Chemical Engineering degree for 10 years working in the areas of project development and operations analysis. I would be wearing a different hat this time as a chemist.

I learned that crafting natural soaps was not only an art but, a science as well. Which could not only be beneficial to me but, could also be a benefit to the environment.  As I started to look more closely at the ingredients in our own skincare products I realized the number of chemicals present and the negative effects these chemicals were having on us, our children, and our planet.

After my husband complained of his continuous irritation and razor burns after shaving, I was back to the drawing board to make another soap that would give him the lather he needed and relief for his irritated skin. The results seen were immediate, the old burns healed and no more burns came out.

I used the experiences I had gained over the 10 years along with my science degree to build my own soap molds and design my own soap recipes. The chemistry of soap making is unique using fatty acids profiles of different fats and oils to create very characteristic soaps.

In crafting the natural soaps, ingredients used tend to be better, batches smaller, and shelf life shorter so natural and affordable skincare products are our mission.
