Nicholas King
Nicholas has over ten years of professional service experience. His professional background includes working with Big 4 firms, where he led engagement teams providing assurance and business advisory services across several industries. His experience spans: commercial banking, general insurance, wholesale/retail, manufacturing, financial consultancy & investment, captive insurance, segregated cell companies, hotels, construction, property management, and gold & silver trading/speculating.
Nicholas also held a senior level internal audit position with the island’s largest credit union.
Nicholas’ experience in the Governance, Risk and Compliance field includes performing fraud investigations, operational reviews, financial reviews, compliance audits, change management engagements, project management oversight, contract reviews, information technology audits, and consultancy services.
Nicholas also held a strategic management level position with one of the top ten international professional services firms, where he established and developed its Governance, Risk, Compliance & Cybersecurity department. In this role, he also helped to grow and expand the firm’s operations in various capacities, inclusive of its expansion into the wider Caribbean.
He is ACCA certified; a Certified Internal Auditor with the Institute of Internal Auditors and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Oxford Brookes University. He also holds numerous certifications in leadership, communication, data analytics and information technology auditing from numerous reputable institutions.
Nicholas is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados, and The Institute of Internal Auditors Barbados Chapter, where he has been on the Board of Governors since 2019.
