DESCRIPTION: Chaste berry (Vitex) is a deciduous shrub in the mint family that is distributed throughout Asia and the Mediterranean region. Although the plant was once used as material in basket weaving, use of its fruit is more widely known. Chaste berry has been used in traditional European herbalism for reproductive support for thousands of years. The dried fruit, can be brewed as an herbal tea, tinctured, or cracked and sprinkled over food for a peppery spice. Vitex supports physical and emotional health during a woman’s menstrual cycle and in the transition into menopause.
